Job Description:
As a member of the anesthesia care team, administers anesthesia and anesthesia related care including preanesthetic preparation and evaluation, anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence, post-anesthesia care and perianesthesic and clinical support functions. Provides general, regional or local anesthesia to all ASA classes of patients including geriatrics and pediatrics for all types of surgical specialties and for obstetric patients. The nurse anesthetist develops strong partnerships with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other health care providers based on trust, mutual respect and communication. The CRNA exercises sound clinical judgment in complex and unpredictable clinical situations.
"MINIMUM EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure to practice in Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
Graduation from a program of nurse anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)
Current certification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists (CCNA) or recertification by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists (COR)
Current certification in ACLS and PALS or within six months of hire
MIMIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Recent experience in providing anesthesia care to a wide variety of patients including extremes of age and all ASA categories in both the inpatient and outpatient setting
Must be committed to quality and safety, dedicated to providing compassionate care to our patients and families, inspired to create memorable experiences and innovative in reducing waste and inefficiency in health care. Strong computer skills preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills."
