Job Description:
The Eye Institute Operating Room Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day to day functioning of the Operating Room. This individual applies knowledge of peri-operative care of patients and principles of leadership and human relations in the over all coordination of patient care and personnel in the Operating Rooms.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Current Wisconsin Licensure as a Registered Nurse.
2. Experienced as an ophthalmology surgical nurse, with knowledge of the peri-operative care of patients.
3. Ability to type on a keyboard and learn the use of different computer programs.
4. Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with medical staff, mangers, OR staff and other hospital departments.
5. Analytical skill necessary to observe nursing practices to assure adherence to policy.
6. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of worked time.
7. Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
8. Minimum of three years of experience in the operating room, with two of the years working in ophthalmology.
